Artwork description:

Blue skies, just perfect for a rest under a tree, breathe deeply!

a handprinted aquatint etching; this means that I have drawn the image, through a varnish, onto a copper plate, I then immerse the copper plate in acid, and the acid "bites" into the copper where I have removed the varnish. When the plate is done, and this takes a while, as most copper plates go in the acid several times, with me adding more detail and aquatint (gives dark tones) I ink the copper plate up for each print I make, you can only print once per inking. Once the ink and paper has dried I sign, title and number each print. As etchings are real hands on printmaking, printmaker are allowed to call their prints original prints, and etchings are very collectible. A great way to start an art collection!

Aquatint is a technique where deep tones can be achieved on an etching, it involves rosin, that gets melted onto the copperplate with the help of a burner.

I print "Forever blue skies" in an edition of only 60 prints, each print is numbered and signed by me. Please note you might not receive the number in the photograph.

The etching is printed on a piece of warm white heavy printmaking paper, perfect for the image,
the paper measures 9 x 12" (23 x 30 cm)
and the actual images measures 6" x 9" (16 cm x 23 cm)
