Forest Sentinel is an original oil painting of a red deer stag in a glowing orange forest clearing. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The painting is highly textured and was painted using thick impasto paint wet into wet style which gives it a rich and fluid feeling. The deer stands to the right with a clearing behind him. The predominant colours are red, purple, orange and yellow. The stag is in shadow so you can barely see his features as he is contrasted against the light. The name refers to the fact that of all forest creatures, the deer are the most likely ones to be sentinels or watchers and deer do have a spooky ability to appear and disappear very fast which adds to their mystique. Painted on deep edge canvas, edges dark red purple, ready to hang, no frame needed and comes with certificate of authenticity for the artist
