Original artwork description:

This Quadriptych is a beautiful exploration of the woods through all the seasons forming a narrative over the natural cycle of the year. Summer is warm and leafy with the sounds of bubbling streams rippling through the forest and sun rays creating dappled light and shadows. Autumn is full of glorious colour, like a symphony that reaches a crescendo of beauty as nature moves towards sleep with tones of amber, gold and cherry red. Winter is a time of chilly blues and quiet snow covered woods with glowing moonlight and pale shadows. Spring is full of optimism, joy and woodland flowers, with delicate scents on the breeze and new soft green buds springing in to life. The quadriptych can be displayed as shown in the photograph or any way according to your home or taste. Each panel can also be displayed separately.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this quadriptych has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edge canvases that do not need a frame. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife, harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists and some of the methods of the old masters such as scumbling and glazing. I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The result is contemporary and lies on the intersection between abstraction and realism. The panels continue round the sides, each one is signed on the side and is ready to hang.
