Original artwork description:

As a child playing in the woods near home was always an exciting adventure. Mysterious, timeless and with a frisson of danger - the eerie silence and dark shadows hiding monsters. As an artist it is one of my favourite subjects.
Christopher Witchall's forest drawings are full of detail leading the viewer into the the forest interior. They contrast with the artist's landscape paintings which are all about open spaces and more like his urban works in their closeness and intimacy.

Materials used:

Graphite pencils on cartridge paper.
