Original artwork description:

One of the first wildflowers that you see in springtime in the forest are these little wood anemones that blossom white among the first green growth on the forest floor. In places they form a complete carpet of white as the sun shines through the trees before the leaves open out. It was this special atmosphere of early spring in the forest that I wanted to capture with this plein air painting, painted in the forest directly next to my home in south west Germany. It was very peaceful standing alone in the forest with only my dog and the multitude of birds celebrating their favourite season.
