A semi-abstract painting based on close up and distanced drawings of trees, water and landscape near Windermere. The painting aims to evoke a sense of landscape and place through abstraction. It explores surface, texture, colour, mark-making and multiple viewpoints. Forest Edge was produced using a variety of different oil based resins with differing amount of Oil, to produce a densely layered, tactile and atmospheric painting. It tries to resonate both a sense of being within and outside of a forest.
