Foreigners Everywhere - Gratitude
Indian culture instills respect and gratitude for the five elements (Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth), the Sun and the Moon, as the life sustaining forces in nature. Numerous people revere these elements in different ways. This value also instills in a person the appreciation of things and beings for who they are and without the desire to acquire or own them!
Fun fact: Just before I started this painting, I was actually thinking if I should paint about respect to nature and how many people would agree with me. As I was looking out the window, I noticed a young woman on her morning walk who momentarily stopped, folded her hands facing the sun for a few seconds. She then looked left and right before continuing on her walk. This is still pretty much common!
I am in between these two generations that I have portrayed here. I found the moment to be quite humorous because they were both preoccupied with their own things!
I'm the vital connection between a past untouched by technological revolution and an AI filled future!
