Original artwork description:

chinese colour sumi inks on India handmade paper,
18 x 24 in., 46 x 61 cm.
Another oldy dug out from the shelf .. and finally properly photographed. This one goes back to my time living in Vancouver B.C., Canada
My paintings in that period were done on location, in one session, without preliminary sketches nor any working lines on the paper. This is paint applied directly on a blank page.
I always liked having the street sign as part of the painting. The building was an oldie then, and looking it up now, the intersection is so the same as it was then!
The paper is thick, about 300gm weight, from the Gandhi co-op industries in India. Tis page has blue fibres pressed into the paper, a subtle touch, but effective.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
The paint remains as bright as always, a testimony to the traditional Chinese paint sticks.
