Original artwork description:

I have been enthralled by pushing the boundaries of working with pen. Until commencing my degree in fine art I was consistently dissuaded from using the biro in an artistic context, perhaps the medium lacked credibility in relation to the wider art world until the past decade.

This work uses the front cover of an authentic Sierra Leone text from the 1970s drawn with biro pen.

Materials used:

biro pen/ballpoint pen and pages from authentic Sierra Leone textbook.
