I painted this piece en plein air (on location), trying to see through the fog enveloping the coast. Coastal fog here is a mysterious creature-one moment everything is clear, and you can see all the way to the horizon, where the sea meets the sky; and the next - the fog enshrouds the cliffs and the coastline completely disappears from view.
