Original artwork description:
This mixed media artwork is a celebration of the herald of Autumn in the deep dark forests of Wales, the Fly Agaric fungus in all its glory. The image is based on a photo I took of the mushrooms in the Elan Valley in Wales in the Autumn of 2022. I added a couple of things to the mix, to make an image that is both wholly different to my usual body of work, and which at the same time feels like a logical excursion.
The piece is on paper, made with a mix of cartridge pen ink delivered via a glass dipping pen, watercolours, pencils and acrylic paint. The paper is roughly A3 sized, a heavyweight cartridge paper. It is supplied in a mount, ready to drop into any standard A3 sized
