A small oil study of a Fly Agaric toadstool photographed by Steve Owen and used with permission as a reference. I was completely drawn to the beautiful colours of this wonderful fungi, perhaps because it is so reminiscent of some of the fairytales I read as a child and the whimsical nature of these incredible specimens. I have an analytical eye and the highly contrasting and colourful detail of these toadstools is so appealing. I hope to paint more!
The painting is being sold in a double painted wooden frame, the outer in pale grey and the inner in a dark distressed grey.
MDF board, artist oil paints, satin varnish, painted wooden frame
