From the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, creating art became impossible for me. My home was a refuge for those fleeing, and fear was pervasive. An invitation to an art symposium in Lithuania changed that; it was there I relearned how to sleep. The relief of sleeping without needing to be ready to flee was immense. In Lithuania, my creativity was reignited; I worked with inspiration and productivity. Returning to Ukraine, the urge to create persisted despite the circumstances. We spent nights sheltering from planes and missiles, but by day, I painted fervently, focusing on what brought me joy, crafting an escape from reality. It brought me happiness to support my army through my art.
My works are created in an expressionist style, supported and based on fundamental knowledge of realistic and impressionist painting schools. Quality oil paints were used in the creation of the painting. It is made and shipped on a pre-stretched canvas on a wooden frame. The work is ready to hang and has painted edges. The artwork is signed on the front and back and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Please note that colors and saturation in the photo may slightly differ from the originals—monitor settings may also affect them.
