In amongst the copper grasses,
In mums garden.

Original illustrative watercolour on textured watercolour paper bockingford 300gsm 150lb.
My inspiration was seeing and being in my mums garden last Summer. Enjoying her beautiful flower pot displays in the garden.
I drew out the design first with a soft pencil and then painted with a small sable hair brush the flowers. I placed the colours carefully on damp paper and the pots were filled in with light colour wash. Then I added a darker shade of green for the shadows on the pots to bring out the detail.
I used a sepia colour for the window and painted the background last, finishing off with the grasses around the pots.
