Original artwork description:

Small acrylic painting 20x20cms 8x8inches.

These flowers were the last of a bunch in a very tall vase on the table in the kitchen. I decided to put the few that were still presentable in a much smaller jug. They looked like they were about to burst out of it - hence the title. I always like the almost abstract shapes of crammed petals and stems jostling against each other in a confined space like this. Added to that of course is the array of wild colours - a challenge indeed. The background blue greens in the end became the most difficult bit to paint - a colour, or set of colours, that would enhance without overpowering the central subject.
The painting is on a birchwood cradled panel and is framed in a contemporary wood tray style frame which is ready to hang.

Materials used:

Birchwood panel acrylic paints
