Original artwork description:

FRAMED AND READY TO HANG. The print is mounted on soft white bevel-cut conservation grade mountboard and in a very solidly hand made solid pine frame. I can supply this either in black or natural pine, both with a lovely waxed finish. Glazed with optical grade acrylic "glass" as preferred by most museums due to it's superior protection and safety factors.

This is a monoprint, so it's unique: the only one that exists !
It was made by inking up a blank printing plate, then "drawing" on the plate, to remove areas of ink, creating the design. That's done with a sharp pointy stick (creates fine white lines) cotton buds create blurry white lines and cotton wool, to remove ink from larger areas.

Working from my studio in the wilds of Wales (UK) I use an etching press to make the print. That's one of those medieval-looking hand cranked contraptions that squeezes the plate against damp paper with thousands of pounds of force. The ink transfers to the paper, leaving the printing plate blank again. So only one can be produced.

Printed with traditional linseed oil based ink onto heavyweight 300gsm paper.
Any questions, just ask. Cheers, Mark.
