A Scottish moorland landscape of the Flow country in Caithness at dawn.
In this impressionist landscape I have tried to convey the peace and tranquility of these remote and lonely moors in the northern highlands of Scotland.
The Flow Country is a vast area of flat peat moorland blanket bog, the largest in Europe covering an area of around 1500 square miles, interspersed with thousands of peaty pools, a unique and isolated place, surrounded by distant hills.
Painted in muted, earth tones of red and yellow ochre with touches of blue, and an atmospheric grey sky.
Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a square format 12" x 12" (30 x 30cm) canvas on board, with a varnish finish and white painted wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
