A contemporary Scottish landscape painting of the vast Flow Country peat lands of the far north of the Scottish highlands. The Flow covers a huge area of Caithness and Sutherland, mainly flat with myriads of small peaty pools and wet boggy areas. In this painting I have tried to portray the flatness of vast area with low lying hills surrounding it on the horizon on a tranquil summers day with watery pools in the foreground.
Painted in ochre colours with a touch of metallic gold on a lightly textured canvas.
Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white hand painted wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Canvas on board, acrylic paint, varnish.
