Painted for an exhibition on Cork Street in London this was based on the memory of a visit the previous year to Florence when it rained far too much! I decided to set it in the evening when the rain had stopped but remained misty from all the water vapour in the air. There is a great church nearby on the hill with a graveyard full of interesting statuary.
