"- Oil on canvas, 18.5 x 31.5 cm - Op.128 (2021)
Studying movement for me also means exploring it from different points of view.
With these 5 small studies on canvas + one on the nativity I wanted to try to simplify further, both in the final aspect of the result (I painted on scraps of canvas held together by two sticks) and in my approach, free and sudden.
They are small improvisations, born on remnants of canvases and with colors left over from other paintings that were drying up, the result of a sincere attempt to arrive at total simplicity, pure color and shape, a movement born from a free gesture and from a physical and mental relaxation. .
In other paintings, dealing with complex things intrigues me, but painting in such a free and unexpected way every now and then is something precious that does me good.
