Original artwork description
This is a ink on paper drawing of a raven in flight .
Ink on paper
96x42 cms unframed
The nature of the flight of a bird in sky ,makes me romanticise about gliding or flying .I wanted to join RAF when I was a teenager & and later even studied physics with a hope to fly for RAF .
The sense of freedom when a raven or a seagull leaps off a cliff up in the air riding the wind reminds me of the thermals a glider has to manoeuvre while gliding.I do glide occasionally .
I so wish I had wings .Watching an eagle or seagull stay in flight almost in the same spot by just spreading the wings and letting the wind do the work looks so effortless .
Watching Raven or starlings in flight as a group inspired this ink on paper drawing .The scene of a group flight just grips you in awe .How do these birds synchronise it all and in case of starlings it is even in beautiful shapes .Drawing with ink is very zen like .I could be stood on my feet drawing for hours and I don’t feel a thing .
