The painting depicts twenty visual fragments, twenty stories, which recount the Phlegraean Fields between history and myth. A volcanic territory near the city of Naples witnesses many episodes of Greek and Roman history. With unique places such as the island of Ischia, Lake Averno, the submerged town of Baia etc.
The three primary colors used metaphorically represent the three main elements present in the Campi Flegrei. The red of the lava of the volcanoes. The yellow of the tuff. The blue of the sea. the work is part of the Phlegrèus cycle.
The work consists of 20 paintings made with raw pigments joined with acrylic resin on an engraving engraving printed on paper and glued onto a white painted table with a back chassis.
