The Manhattan Skyline is best viewed from a height. The soaring metropolis suddenly looks like a dollhouse, with little people doing mundane tasks. Hungry people visit sidewalk cafes, cats sleep on windowsills. A couple has a row in their loft on a Saturday morning. A toddler begs his mother to buy donuts at the supermarket. Above the fray, New York City is not a looming monster. It is quiet as a village. The violence, poverty, and strife evaporate at 1000 feet. Even the strong smells from the streets disappear. It’s a pretty dollhouse whose pieces fit perfectly into their space.
