As a child, I was often taken to the Kaunas Zoo, and there I first saw live flamingos, amazing birds with thin long legs, huge beaks too heavy for the head and curving necks. So, unexpectedly, nature ordered, endowing them with strange, not harmonious proportions and striking beauty at the same time.
Our family doesn't really celebrate St. Valentine, believing that love for a loved one cannot be limited to one day a year and that this is more a holiday for teenagers and commerce… but who of us was not 16 when all those hearts and little signs of love were so important?
