My art has often been described by curators as traditional with a twist of abstract and I believe this is apparent in 'Five Nectarines'. I took quite traditional objects and arranged the composition so as to accentuate the strong shapes and patterns. The circular shape of the plate is echoed in the shapes of the nectarines. The cool vibrant blue and white of the plate stands out against the warm wooden tones of the table and the orange and red nectarines. A signature element of my work is the unusual perspective, in particular the aerial viewpoint often found in my paintings. This painting has featured in a leading UK Art magazine.
