Original artwork description:

This oil painting is another one of the artist's favourite themes: the little harbour of 'la Pointe Courte' in Sète. Sète is a town in southern France located between the Mediterranean sea and the 'étang de Thau'. It's an important commercial and fishing harbour in the south of France but 'la Pointe Courte is a small quiet fishing harbour on the étang de Thau, specialized in oysters, eels , sea bass . It's off the beaten track and picturesque. Jean-Noël Le Junter often goes there -since his studio is not far - to make watercolours of the fishermen's houses, huts, boats, nets, ... He particularly likes the reflections in water. Then he uses these watercolours to realize oil paintings. He likes to paint in successive thin nearly transparent layers, which takes a few months for each painting because of the necessary drying time between each layer. This particular work was started in september 2019 and finished in January 2020. Several of his paintings of that place are on sale on Artfinder.
This oil painting on a linen canvas is ready to hang and sold with a certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

extra fine paints, oil, brushes
