The latest in my 'pop art food' series is an image of one of the most iconic British meals and a seaside favourite - fish and chips. It features battered fish, chips, mushy peas, a generous sprinkling of salt, and it's all falling onto a newspaper, which used to be the traditional way of serving fish and chips.

Everything is set against my trademark sky blue background and outlined using a black Posca paint pen. I love reducing food stuffs to colourful graphic-art style images.

It's a bold bright painting that would brighten up any room in your home, or would make an ideal gift for a food lover.

It is painted in acrylics on thick A4 acrylic paper. PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a white A4 frame for display purposes. So the third pictures shows exactly what you'd be getting.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
