Original artwork description:

One of my most vivid impressions is a pond full of decorative lotuses in a small provincial town in China. I could not imagine that there are so many different varieties.
They bloomed like fireworks over the wide green leaves.
I painted this picture based on a small plain air sketch done with colored pencils. Therefore, the picture really conveys my impressions of what I saw.
In Buddhism, the lotus symbolizes purity because it grows out from the mud, pure and unstained.
