This subtle, yet intense stylized portrait of a young woman's hopeful gaze is enhanced by the empty spaces in the painting.

Leaving open spaces, gives the person who looks upon it a place to fill in the blancs with their own stories.
I think art should give space to that what is alive within us, especially to that what has only a very soft voice.

The warm and sparkly colors are contrasted by the cooler outlines and shadows,
which creates deepness.

Some of the little background squares are gilded with copper leaf, which shine in different ways, depending the light that dances upon it.

The sides are painted as well and this painting is framed in a white box-frame which is ready to hang.
On the back the year, title and my signature is found.
