'Filling the void' depicts a scene that could well be considered uneventful. However, the painting peppers this mundanity with elements that convey joy and jubilation. The vibrant colours decorating the lorry, for example, indicate a purpose beyond mixing cement. Its role may instead be sublime, if not angelic in nature; a celebration of construction, creativity and ingenuity.
