Original artwork description:

This artwork is a part of a series "My shallow roots". It's a series of minimalistic oil paintings on prepared paper that resemble old, aged photos of practically nothing - a field, a tree, a fragment of a house. They invite us to track the author's roots back to the elusive flatland that don’t exist any more - or probably has never existed. It’s an “inner flatland”, a symbol of a Homeland, something that is deep inside despite of its shallow roots. The series was shown at personal exhibitions in Stone Oven House, Rora, Italien, and in Budva, Montenegro.

Materials used:

oil, gelatin
