Ciardi has a strong brushstroke and an acute sensitivity to colors, so much so that he is able to recreate moments and places with harmonious concentration, a tactile effervescence that goes, for the viewer, beyond just "looking". loose and harmonious. This painting portrays a field of sunflowers in Tuscany. The yellow expanse of flowers contrasts with the background in its blue tones. Gaze stops on the foreground, to get lost later in the depth of the horizon.
