All of these works are a direct response to the landscape around where I live, painted on location in one sitting, they are painted outdoors by design, I find the challenge of hiking up a hill, setting up an easel, and making a painting of the view that made me stop to be a very pure way of working. Plus I find the fresh immediate brush strokes and colour can only be achieved in this manner, in the field.
