One thing is certain, I miss Martha. Martha is this sober and monochrome painting created in 2018, sold in 2021. It's the only sale I cried over. Because I didn't want Martha to leave. Feux Croisés uses the same codes as Martha: simple book pages on a black background, interspersed with dark lines which outline the body. The technique here lies in the careful cutting of the dark pages to evoke shadow and volume and give substance to this young woman through words.

"Feux Croisés" takes its name from a complete coincidence: this title appears on its back, the only survivor of the scissor cuts.

The canvas is varnished and equipped with a hanging system.
