The name of this picture makes me smile and is inspired by the famous “Ferry Cross the Mersey” song by Gerry and the Pacemakers. It is a famous song from the 1960’s in my hometown of Liverpool. This painting is a larger version of the previous “A Warm and Misty Afternoon” picture painted in Acrylic Paint on 300gsm Paper. After mostly cloudy and misty weather during our stay I was excited to paint the bright sunshine colours on this warm afternoon. Like the previous painting it was done over a few late afternoon sessions after we had returned from hiking or biking by the lake. I didn’t want to just paint a second version of the same painting so I decided to include Ida Saou and one of the small ferries that takes people around the lake, as from around 8.30 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. they are constantly visible on the water. Due to the ferry in the picture, while editing, writing about and naming all the pictures done during this trip this name suddenly came to me, and it’s my favourite one for a while!
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
