"Felled Tree" is a small painting on canvas it depicts a tree felled and cut into pieces on Southampton Common in late Autumn.

In this painting I have tried to evoke a sense of season through the choice of subject and the use of colour.

The painting is made using a limited palette; greens, blues and browns with the main forms of the logs being shown through the tonal contrast between the darker bark and the freshly cut pale wood in the interior of the tree as well as the coating of dust and wood chippings.
