Figurative reduced one-line drawing on acrylic background - drawing ink /acrylic on handmade paper, 300 g/m².
The theme of "connectedness" plays a central role in my work as an artist. Be it the connection to oneself, to others, to nature or generally to the environment that surrounds us. Basically everything is connected, that is what I would like to convey in my works. Therefore the motives of my drawings and prints are created by one connected line. This technique underlines the motives’ connection to their surroundings and feelings.
My creative activity is an intuitive process. An important part especially plays the dialog with the artwork as a continuous exchange between expression and interpretation. Questions like: “What does the image tell me?” or “How can I use the structures already created for giving form to my motives?” are essential during the time of development and influence the result decisively. During the creation but also in the encounter with the beholder I am particularly interested in spontaneous processes like the attribution of meaning.
