Original artwork description:

This is a painting of a Vulcan B2 at full power just before releasing the brakes for a take-off run. The engines have a characteristic howl - much beloved by Vulcan enthusiasts - but, as an ex-Vulcan navigator the howl is irrelevant!

The painting shows the aircraft on a foul weather day, well remembered by myself at RAF Waddington in the 1970s and 80s. The secondary image shows the 'Howl' double mounted and framed in a simple dark grey mount. The lower painting shows the aircraft at the end of the sortie, brake 'chute streamed. The painting is also listed on this website.

Materials used:

Arches 'Rough' watercolour paper, 300 gsm and mainly Winsor and Newton artists quality paint
