As a teacher in a art school, I always bother my students with this story of unity and variety (and this so that a painting is well balanced).
So for this work, I thought about it: unity of black contours and white interiors with variety of shapes, multiplicity of elements with uniqueness of the background.
I also see the rhythm of the rounded shapes and that of the painted frame (a little nod to the 1970s)
