Being from Mississippi myself, I am a little biased toward southern aurthors and Faulkner in particular. He was an American writer and Nobel Prize laureate from Oxford, Mississippi. Faulkner wrote novels, short stories, screenplays, poetry, essays, and a play. He is primarily known for his novels and short stories set in the fictional Yoknapatawpha County, based on Lafayette County, Mississippi, where he spent most of his life.
Faulkner is one of the most celebrated writers in American literature generally and Southern literature specifically. Though his work was published as early as 1919, and largely during the 1920s and 1930s, Faulkner was not widely known until receiving the 1949 Nobel Prize in Literature, for which he became the only Mississippi-born Nobel winner.
FAULKNER is a one-of-a-kind, original work of art. It is painted on 6 mil. archival grade drafting mylar . The cursive writing in the background is a reproduction of the actual manuscript for Light in August. It and the book cover have been digitally reproduced on the mylar and then the portrait was painted over the background. The mylar is tough, waterproof, inert, flexible, dimensionally stable, and it does not have to be stretched, like canvas and watercolor paper. The painting is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I only sell original work so there will only be one original and no authorized copies will ever be made. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be shipped in a tube. The artwork is very easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell and also I include mounting tape, a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board.
If you prefer, I will mount the artwork on tempered masonite board with a two or three inch border. It will be “ready to hang”, with a hanging strip attached to the back and a wall hanging device that is very simple to use. It will be shipped in a cardboard box. You may take it out of the box and have it hanging on your wall within five minutes. The extra charge is $50.00 for mounting and packaging plus the additional shipping costs. Message me through this site and I will calculate the total costs for mounting and shipping.
