Ink painting, portrait of a girl from Morocco. Inspired by travels to Africa. In traditional Japanese sumi-e ink wash painting technique with Chinese inks on rice paper. Mounted on archival paper. In expressionism style.
Ink paintings by Alex Solodov are mostly the portraits. They are based on photo images but in process of painting they are transformed into surreal images of “invaders” which can exist only between dream and reality.
