Artwork description:

This print is of a view I sketched while visiting my brother in Canada. The lake it refers to is Lake Erie, just south of Toronto. It was a very calming place to be, but sitting there sketching I was aware of the noise of the birds, the insects and the lake behind me.

This linocut was made in three stages using blended rolls. The first two stages I completed at the FolkEast 2018 festival in Suffolk as a demonstration. I was great fun to be doing printmaking at a festival with a constantly changing audience of curious festival-goers!

All of my prints are original linocuts and are handmade by me. Because they are handmade, prints inevitably have minuscule differences...part of the charm of being made by a person and not a machine!

I use Lawrence oil-based relief printing inks and Zerkall smooth white paper, 145gsm. I use a BlueBoy printing press. There is more information about my studio and other work on my website.

Prints will be sent to you unframed, protected with cellophane in a re-enforced padded envelope on a Special Delivery service with the Post Office.
