On a road trip to see my son in Morrison, Colorado I visited a beautiful area near Lair of the Bear Park. This painting was done from the photos I took of Bear Creek. Most days I would paint on location in the morning and fish for wild trout in the afternoon. What a great way to spend the day. My inspiration for this painting was the warmth of the autumn aspen trees against the cool mountain in the background. The creek with the bubbling rapids pull’s the eye into the painting.
This painting is gallery wrapped with the edges painted in a warm dark color. I consider my work impressionistic even though others may think it is realistic. When you get close up to one of my works you will see what I mean.
