On a recent painting trip to Yosemite, I admired this view of Yosemite Falls from Yosemite Lodge Drive. This painting was inspired by the interesting juxtaposition of the shade cast over the rocks on the left running diagonally to the waterfalls in light, visually dividing the scene into triangles. I think that diagonals in the composition of a painting make the design of artwork more vibrant, radiating energy and exuberance.
Materials used to create this artwork:
Oil on oil primed Claessens Belgian linen canvas on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, finished with melamine backing that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.
Painting is unframed and requires a frame to hang. It will easily fit in a standard 9"x12" (USA) frame. Images showing the artwork framed in home interiors are for presentation of framing ideas only. Frame is not included.
