Artwork description:

One day, after passing through the woodland and driving leisurely along the lake shore, I had to stop and stare in disbelief. How often does it happen that you are by a rift valley lake and overlooked by cliffs, all by yourself except for a herd of 40-50 giraffes? Such an encounter is so unexpected that initially you tend to gawk. After a while though, the brain reminds you that you could photograph.

The giraffes watched me with curiosity. I waited for them to settle into some sort of graphic arrangement.

You might perceive that the giraffe photograph I like the best from the ones I took has a non-photographic look. It conjures up a world that is part fairyland. Perhaps that’s why it did well at exhibitions.
