Original artwork description:

Plant derived pigments on canvas.
This painting in it's original state was produced for an exhibition of paintings using Placrylic, an eco-friendly plant based paint. After the exhibition I wanted to repurpose the canvas as I didn't really like the colours and the plant based pigments weren't stable. But then each time I coated over with clear gesso each pigment behaved differently, some changing colour and all dissolving at a different rate. In the end I liked the washed out painting so much I couldn't paint over it, it's like it's started to say something and then faded away.
