Original artwork description:

Bold and moody abstract that was done with acrylic and mixed media on heavy watercolor paper in monochrome shades of black and white with a touch of color and layers of expressive mark making. It is sealed with a satin protective finish, so it can be easily applied to a board for framing without glass or, matted and framed under glass.

It is signed on the front and back along with the title and date created.

I name my pieces by what occurred while painting the piece. What moved me, what struggles had to be overcome, my mood, my train of thought, what the piece reminded me of, sometimes a song that was on and the beat moved me or the lyrics influenced me in some way. Some pieces are named clearly with a bit of humor. This piece was painted during with the U.S. Open in tennis on in the background. Even though I don't play the game, I think this is what influenced me. The pieces reminded me of the court, the net, the ball, the spectators...

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, charcoal, marker, graphite, pencil, paper
