Faces In Wood 4 - Acrylic Oil On Paper - 12"x12"_x000D_

I have no set way of painting the human face. I start with the thought and the face changes as I paint, almost dictated by the canvas texture. This is why I very rarely make preparatory sketches. I find they do not transfer well, almost like it goes from sincere to insincere._x000D_

I rather go direct to the canvas, and let the paint dictate where I go. Each canvas, I feel, seems to have a mind of its own and its best to start a painting by listening to it. Then the painting gets to the point where I can see a shape that dictates an expression. The story begins in my head and I carry on painting accenting the emotion I saw swirling in the paint originally. I keep painting, keep accenting the emotion and then, when I feel I have achieved that, I try and stop._x000D_

I’m a London-based artist, and my work often reflects vivid and surreal imagery inspired by my unique experience with REM intrusion—a condition where dream-like visions can appear while I’m awake. My paintings explore the boundary between waking reality and the dream world, using layered compositions to create a sense of depth and movement.
I paint with high-quality materials and put a lot of thought into texture and detail. My process is a mix of intuitive brushwork and deliberate layering, aiming to create pieces that are rich in emotion and invite you to see something new each time you look at them.
This piece will be carefully packaged using protective materials and dispatched via a tracked courier. If you have any questions or special requests, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
