The thickly textured oil visage of a mysterious old/young, man/woman, headdress-topped sage peers out intelligently and knowingly into our own gaze, seemingly full of knowledge yet revealing nothing of our fate. The deep lines and contours of this otherworldly face, here reflected back at us, provokes contemplation on the implacable cost of being human.
