Original artwork description:

This bright and joyful painting is the second in this series, composed in a cool, harmonious palette of teal, blue and green with warm notes of apricot and pink. Embedded are the words from Psalm 16:8 which state, “I keep my eyes on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” I chose these words and the theme of the series itself because I realized something about myself. Life is often challenging, and the many demands placed upon us underscore our own individual shortcomings. Aware of my own limitations, I realized that I was becoming anxious and that self-doubt was eroding my natural confidence. So I prayed about it and realized the source of my anxiety: rather than focus on my own short-comings, or on the problem of the moment, I shifted my attention to God—who is more than equal to any problem and who will supply all that’s lacking in me from His own infinite capacity. Problems continue to present themselves, of course, but my anxiety has disappeared, and I’m able to tackle them with a calm assurance, allowing God to lead the way. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection, and hanging hardware is already installed.

Materials used:

oil
